william pruitt Alannas voice over the melancholy tones of the music, combine to form beautifully haunting songs with simple yet, deep and desperate lyrics. Alannas silky smooth and sultry voice is almost paralyzing. Paralyzing in a good way like, when you're in bed at that point where you are drifting between a dream and consciousness. Alanna is the first female vocalist that has caught my attention and kept it. If her voice was put to any other sound, I don't think her voice would resonate as well as it does with the low end and the less is more approach the musical arrangements spell out in every song. And I've never listened to an artist that could make me feel good and indifferent, simultaneously. Alanna Lin is a welcomed change to the cookie cutter artists that the music industry is trying to force feed the one's of us that crave individuality. I hope to hear more from her in the near future.

I’m Walking This Road Because You Stole My Car (Don’t Go) I’m walking this road Because you stole my car I’m singing this song ’Cause you have all my CDs You want me to believe in your love And yeah, I will When you give back my stuff Give back my stuff The gerbils are dead Your books have found a home Under the tree Where I have buried your clothes You want me to believe in your love And yeah, I will When you dig up your stuff How am I supposed to learn What love is in this lifetime How am I supposed to learn What love is what love is If you go if you go if you go if you go Don’t go I’m walking this road Because you stole my heart I’m singing this song cause you have All my CDs You want me to believe In your love And yeah, I do. . . ‘Cause I can’t love you enough Can’t love you enough Give back my stuff You have my love Don’t go

I Shot Neil Young He shot me down by the river Down by the river he shot me But I shot him back I did, I did I shot him back We stood with our backs turning Against the broken waves And in the river’s emptiness We repaid we repaid Baby I have loved you forever And what a great weight it has seemed to be But everything is lighter now That you’ve shot three holes through me Honey I have loved you with the deepest love So deep I thought that I would drown But now my broken skin is begging for Your loving hand to hold me down We laid our pistols on the shore We held each other by the open door We waited for the covered shore We waited for the covered shore chorus Our blood was flowing rapidly And in the falling sun the breeze Caught his lips and brought him back to me He shot me down by the river Down by the river he shot me chorus

Let Me Buy You A Drink Let me buy you a drink A slightly strong drink You don’t have to think I’ll do the talking And you don’t have to call me tomorrow You don’t have to call me tomorrow You don’t have to call me tomorrow Let me buy you a house A very big house It’ll be your dream house You can sleep in it chorus I am a woman who doesn’t need your attention Just be sure you don’t neglect me But maybe you could Buy me a drink A slightly strong drink ‘cause I’m feeling strong leaning on your sink And you don’t have to call me tomorrow You don’t have to call me tomorrow You don’t have to call me tomorrow ‘Cause I just might call you tomorrow You don’t have to call me tomorrow

Sad Feeling 04:08
Sad Feeling I’d have you walk me to the garden gate And then I’d say good-bye the hardest way I think I’d say I don’t love you anymore There was just a time when I adored you Yesterday What happened since then I can’t say Can you make this sad feeling go away I’d have you walk me to our bed I’d have you remember every word we said I’d wait till midnight to end the day And then I’d say good-bye the hardest way You’d hear me say I don’t love you anymore There was just a time when I adored you Yesterday What happened since then I can’t say Can you make this sad feeling go I’d have you walk me the other way So I could stand beside you One more day Cause baby I love you, but I’m afraid Can you make this sad feeling go?

This Is Good 03:59
This Is Good The morning is brighter Than I expected Maybe you have something To do with it Where is my toothbrush Where are the blankets Maybe we should be Sleeping in This is good. . . After we wake up Let’s go to the movies And after I’ll go Wherever you go This morning is better Than what I remember From lifetimes I lived So long ago This is good. . . Wake up my darling The morning is over Look at the clouds I caught from your dreams Where is my toothbrush Where is my make-up Maybe we should be Sleeping This is good. . .

Who’s Gonna Love You Baby, you think you’re so hot Baby, you are, but so what? No one’s gonna love you today What do you say let’s go back To the house and relax. . . Baby, I’ve got something on my mind Lately, you’ve been too unkind Who’s gonna love you today While I’m away will you be Good and sweet, good and sweet. . . Baby, you think you’re so wise But baby, I’ve seen you compromise No one’s gonna judge you today What do you say let’s go back To the house and watch more TV Who’s gonna love you Who’s gonna love you Who’s gonna love you Who’s gonna love you ‘Cause you could use me And I could use you How many days will we pretend That this is what we wanted to do reprise

Don’t Break My Best Friend Everything you say makes me turn grey I can’t stand the faces you wear on yours through the day Tattoos of Mary, peace signs and charms Your eyes are a grave he made into his backyard Diamonds are hanging from strands of your hair Everyone loves you and everyone shares Your skin is a carnival, open hands untie But no one can catch you in the middle of the night You’re a drugstore, you’re a savior, You bind up our wounds, you’re the future You’re a hero, you’re a sorrow You’re midnight’s velcro moon You take best friends as lovers you keep them so close While you love one the other is holding a rose You’re so free and so beautiful they’re sure to recall When they’ve lost you and each other and have nothing at all chorus You’re a lover, a story, the faintest tragedy The city is burning and you’re underneath O darlin’ I’ve got his voice on my tape recorder You took the boy and made him a steel hearted monster You were playing you’re playing dumb twenty-nothing and Now there’s a fracture where once there was something chorus

Madness, Vision It’s almost impossible to say another word When you’re watching for the fall guy To pin the blame you pin the neighbor For spending too much time on the phone with the police Close your eyes there’s nothing waiting Everything takes pain and patience sometimes In a second news is flashing and you’re in it Watching on channel 5 (Where’s the madness?) Add some salt unto the salted until your mouth is bleeding Read a book and count the days that pass while you are sleeping Sleeping is a joke in phases on the nights you’re dying Leave the paper on the table so I’ll know you’re lying Where’s the madness in my vision Where’s the madness in my vision The whiter your teeth, the whiter your smile The whiter your life, the whiter your living Take the bleachers, take the game, and the champions Line the future with the bones of spines your swore were missing Knit it all together with the wish you keep on wishing Where’s the madness in my vision Where’s the madness in my vision Keep the band together, have a supper, watch a ballgame Ride the coast, the tide, the wave, will keep you moving east Keep your eyes upon the sky the moon is only watching Behind the moon there is a man His necktie he’s untying Where’s the madness in my vision Where’s the madness, your derision Fuels my madness, fuels my vision Madness, vision I left a cherry in the tower By the television Take it lover with another make a quick decision If I never see you again will you still remember What I left you in that tower haunts me to this very hour What I left you in that tower haunts me to this very hour

Jesus Comes Back As A Homeless Man Who Thinks He’s Jesus You’re a white ghost On the corner Where is your Where is your mother You’re a white ghost On the corner Looks like you You need some water Aren’t you gonna thank me I fed you yesterday I fed you yesterday You left your sweetheart In a Roman parlor Where you gave the Good Word With wine and powder You gave thanks We ate and drank Then we walked the plank Down an ancient corridor Aren’t you gonna thank me I led you here yesterday I led you here yesterday You left your coat By an open coffin Where you buried a boy But you buried him often You left a sign By that open door Looked like a white ghost On the corner Aren’t you gonna thank me I saved you yesterday I saved you yesterday Aren’t you gonna thank me?
